The Effect of the Musical Activities based on Song ?Writing with Family on Family Adaptability, Family Cohesion, and Communication between Husband and Wife of Adopted Children and Their Family

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether musical activities based on song writing with family affect on the positive family relationship of adoptive children and their family. In this case, five families with adopted children participated in the song writing activity for 8 weeks, and pre - and post - test were conducted. Accordingly, the measurement tools used were family cohesiveness and adaptability scale, communication scale between husband and wife and level of satisfaction. The results of the study are as follows. It was noted that after the song writing, the cohesiveness and adaptability of the family improved. Indeed, it was found that especially for children, family adaptability score increased statistically significantly. In addition, after the song writing, the communication score between husband and wife increased statistically significantly in both couples. The results of this study showed that the activities of the song writing with family had a positive effect on the improvement of the family relationship through the adaptability and cohesion of the adoptive family and the improvement of the communication within the family. These results will be useful as basic data for the future program and development for the many types of families.
